Eligibility & Application Requirements - International Offshore Students
- International offshore students are students currently residing outside of Australia who have not been granted an Australian student visa to reside and study in Australia.
 - Admission is open to eligible offshore students, who are 18 years of age, or older, on the day they submit an Application for Admission to the course.
 - Applications for Admission are accepted to commence in Semesters 1 (late March), 2 (late July) and 3 (early December) each year. Refer to the Key Dates for details.
 - All offshore internal student applicants for admission to a course at Churchill institute must complete and submit:
- Churchill Institute's Application for Admission Form and meet the academic and English language proficiency (ELP) requirement as specified in the Admissions Guidelines on page 10 of the Admissions Policy; and
 - Churchill's Genuine Student (GS) Application Form that the applicant must complete themself to demonstrate:

- that they are a Genuine Student for Australian student visa application purposes; and
- that they meet the eligibility requirements and evidentiary requirements to apply to the Department of Home Affairs for an Australian student visa; and
 - for offshore international student applicants applying through an authorised Churchill Institute Education Agent, their education agent must also complete and submit the Education Agents Genuine Student Form.

 - Include certified supporting documentation (to evidence the course academic, ELP, Genuine Student and other requirements), plus proof of their identity (current passport data page).
 - Submit the completed Application for Admission Form and Genuine Student Form and if applicable, the Education Agents Genuine Student Form at least and no later than six (6) weeks before the applicable semester start date. Note:
- Submitting your application no later than six (6) weeks prior to the applicable Semester Start Date is a guideline only, as student visa application processing times vary and change. Earlier applications are strongly encouraged.
 - Check the Department of Home Affairs [student] visa processing times guide webpage for current timeframes.

 - Late applications may be accepted for Semesters 1 or 2 (entirely at Churchill's discretion) pending the timing of the request vs current student visa application timeframes, and other related factors per the Admissions Policy.
- An offshore student approved to be admitted late on Semester 1 or 2 will be required to have their student visa granted; arrive in Australia; pay the deposit in full and enrol in units (subjects) by the end of week 1 of the semester (per section 5.2.5 of the Enrolment Policy); and attend an online new student orientation program.

 - Late applications will not be accepted under any circumstances for semester 3 as it comprises six (6) weeks of teaching - not 12 weeks (as apply to semesters 1 and 2).

How to Submit Application for Admission:
Submit your Application for Admission Form and Genuine Student Form and certified supporting documentation (evidence) either:
- Directly to Churchill to [email protected] as stated on the Application for Admission Form; or
 - Through an authorised Churchill Institute Education Agent, who must also submit the Education Agents Genuine Student Form.

Application for Admission - Outcome
- You'll be notified by Churchill Institute of the outcome usually within five (5) working days of submitting a correct and complete Application for Admission Form, Genuine Student Form that includes all certified supporting documentation (evidence) as required.
 - Applications for Admission are assessed against the course admission criteria, Churchill's Genuine Student and related requirements for (offshore) International students as specified in the Admissions Policy (Admission Guidelines (page 10 onwards).

Successful applicants
- Will be issued an Offer of Admission (Written Agreement) by Churchill Institute that includes course administrative information and the terms and conditions of accepting the Offer of Admission and enrolment in the course.
- A Conditional Offer of Admission may be issued per section 5.3 of the Admissions Policy and does not guarantee a place in the course. An Offer of Admission will only be issued when the conditions are met and evidenced per 5.3 of the Admissions Policy.

 - International students must also pay a fee deposit (as specified in their Offer of Admission (Written Agreement), which must be received in Churchill's Protected Tuition Fee Account by the specified payment / acceptance date in the student's Offer of Admission.
 - Successful applicants (and not their Education Agent or any other person) must read, sign and return their Offer of Admission by the date specified to formally accept and secure their place in the course.
 - A Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) will not be issued by Churchill Institute until the applicant has signed and returned by the date specified in their Offer of admission - their acceptance of their Offer of Admission (Written Agreement); has paid in full the specified fee deposit, evidenced in Churchill's Protected Tuition Fee Account; and has provided all Genuine Student-related evidence required by Churchill Institute.
- A CoE will not be issued when an applicant has been issued a Conditional Offer of Admission per section 5.3 of the Admissions Policy.

 - A Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) will be issued by Churchill Institute only when the applicant has met all requirements of 4 above.
 - Successful offshore international student applicants, after being issued a CoE by Churchill Institute, are then required to apply for an Australian Student Visa (pay the AUD$2,000 application fee, provide their Churchill Institute issued CoE and other evidence) through the Department of Home Affairs (Immigration) website.
- For help, refer to the Tips for submitting a decision-ready [student visa] application.
 - A Churchill authorised Education Agent may submit the applicant's Student Visa Application on their behalf.

 - The Department of Home Affairs will independently assess the student visa application against Genuine Student and Ministerial Direction No 111 requirements; and will notify the applicant and Churchill Institute if the student visa application is approved (visa granted) or rejected (visa rejected).
- Note a successful application for admission outcome and issuance of a CoE by Churchill Institute does not in any way guarantee nor imply a successful student visa application outcome, which is determined independently by the Department of Home Affairs.

 - When the student visa application is approved by the Department of Home Affairs (visa granted) the student is to commence preparing to travel to Australia (refer to Churchill's Pre-Departure and Living in Australia information) and arrive in time to attend orientation (1 week before the Semester Start Date -- as specified in their Offer of Admission).
 - Successful applicants for admission may request to defer their course commencement until the next intake semester, which will be considered only when the student can demonstrate related compassionate or compelling circumstances and as otherwise specified in section 5.8 of the Enrolment Policy. Tuition and other fees already paid may be refunded and /or held in credit by Churchill Institute per the Student Fees Policy (Section 9. Refunding & Crediting Tuition Fees).

Unsuccessful applicants for admission
- Will be advised by Churchill Institute that their Application for Admission was unsuccessful and the reason(s) will be provided, referencing the applicable section(s) of the Admissions Policy.
 - When an offshore applicant's student visa application is rejected by the Department of Home Affairs, Churchill will cancel their offer of admission and place in the course; and will refund fees already paid based on the Student Fees Policy (Section 9. Refunding & Crediting Tuition Fees).
 - Unsuccessful applicants may appeal Churchill's decision to reject their application for admission (but not a student visa application rejected by the Department of Home Affairs) by submitting the online Student Grievance and Appeals Form no later than ten (10) working days of the issue date of the unsuccessful application for admission notification outcome date (per section 10.1 of the Admissions Policy) that will be considered based on the Student Grievance and Appeals Management Policy.
